It wasn't the nicest day for most outdoor TOC events, but for the ten of us it couldn't have been better. Who doesn't need a hug, especially when the weather is as dull, drab and drizzly as it was on saturday.
For all of us I'm sure this was the perfect holiday event, seeing the smiles on peoples faces and the laughter in the eyes of children and teens is the best gift one can give or receive.
As I mentioned at Pickle Barrel after, this event is dedicated to Fanny who, though she still believes that Canadians are a little more stand-offish and cold when compared to her country-people, think has a renewed opinion of our friendliness and compassion.
For me personally, I do it because I really wish there was more trust in the world, it's a better place when people let their guard down. If we can change just one persons opinion of strangers or the streets of Toronto then it was a worthwhile afternoon.
I'd like to thank everyone that came out, your sign-making efforts, smiles and huggability touched many people.

Have some photos from this event that you'd like to share in our photo album? Please forward them to Erik Sonstenes at photos@torontooutdoorclub.com. Please note that we prefer to receive the photos in approximately 640x480 or 750x500 pixels - do NOT send original high-res photos. If you have a LOT of photos, please submit up to twenty of your favorites (only) for a day event, or up to forty of your favourites for a multi-day event. Thank you.
