Sat, Jun 10 2006 - Pretty River and Osler Bluffs (View Original Event Details)
|
We had a nice mild day for this hike, and after some navigational experimentation (*ahem* Betsy et al) we got started off!
Predictable though it is to say, Pretty River really is pretty, and we had a great time in the woods by the Pretty River. We reached the highest point on the Bruce Trail (yup, it's tree....in a forest....but it SOUNDS cool) and continued on to have a nice lunch in a field where we got some sun, caught up on beefalo, and Chuck fed grasshoppers!
The after lunch highlight was probably the scramble up the hill through boulders and fallen rocks to reach the rock face and climb the 'secret stairs' up. From the top we had a great view of Nottawasaga Bay and a chance to recharge before continuing!
After the hike a group of us met at the Firkin for some food and drinks.
