Thanks again to a great TOC effort we were done the vigil setup in a very short time. With our tools we planted ceremonial gravestones for each of the women who've been victims of violence in the last 20+ years. After a brief break at the local Tim Hortons we were right back to work.

Many of the TOC women spoke too in a part of the ceremony where they each read the name and described how a woman was violently killed this year. Candles were lit and roses were left on a commemorative boulder.

The weather was cold and snowy but the solemnity of the occasion made us forget all that and focus on remembering the victims.

Finally, the organizer really appreciated our help, see below:

Hi Nick,

Please forward this message to all those who volunteered with you yesterday.

Thank you so much for your commitment through the snow and wind and cold at yesterdays Vigil. Things ran so smoothly and it could not have happened without your amazing spirit and support. Set up and tear down were the fastest since I've been involved and I want you to know how much we appreciated your help.

I hope you all enjoyed your time, and I look forward to seeing you at future TOC events (you all inspired me to become a member!)

Thanks Again!!!!!

Eve
