With the holiday season just getting underway, and I suppose a lot of people like myself being asked to take time off, the winter storm that passed through Toronto didn't really affect our drive because the roads were not busy. Our first night in the Yurt was quite cold, it taking some time to warm up by fire. Saturday morning was -24C outside.
Bernadette, Victor, and Anita enjoyed their snowshoes, while Alex, Darrel, and myself each had two days to blast our out-of-shape skiing muscles on the intermediate trail. There was lots of fresh powder, and on Sunday no grooming either, so this turned into a backcountry trip with a firm base while we alternated breaking trails.
A little wine with a lot of darkness after 5pm, and everyone got a lot of sleep as well. It was a lot of fun, and worth doing again.
