The drive to the trailhead took us longer than expected, as the road numbers did not actually match the map I printed from Google. We missed Simcoe Rd 10, which appeared on the map W of Angus, but actually it is within Angus. We saw a sign to Wasaga Beach, while we were looking for the sign to New Lowell, that can be seen only when you drive on Simcoe 10. So we continued to C F Borden instead, and asked for directions at a local police station. We had to turn back to Angus. Hyun was a great help in the navigation.
The hike started with a cloudy sky, which turned to rain when we reached the halfway point. We extended the original hike for another 4.8 Km, so the total we hiked was 13.8 Km. Jenn was very helpful and watched for the trail blazes, actually she was the first to see the stairs, which lead us down to the river. Ricky was the only one who managed to remain with more or less clean pants, while all the others were muddy. I don’t know how he did that. The way back seemed long, because of the rain and the mud, and at a certain point I checked the map and the compass to make sure we are in the right directions, and Gerry was worried we were lost. I assured him there is only one main Bruce trail in the area, and finally we made it back to the parking lot after climbing a long set of stairs in a very muddy and slippery conditions. We all came back in one piece.

In conclusion, it was a MYSTERY HIKE because of the heavy fog, and all in our group seemed to enjoy the day after all. We are planning to come again to the area and do another loop hike to the Notawasaga bluffs.
