Tue, May 20 2008 - Urban Hike Humber River Trilliums (View Original Event Details)
|
The evening was warmer then expected. We walked down the river past the Old Mill Spa. Under the subway and Bloor St. and through the park land. After traveling on the roadway for a bit we entered the park north of the Queesway by the Humber. We found Trilliums beside the path but leaving the path took us to the top of a mound with a dell covered in Trilliums (trillium grandiflora). We took pictures and basked in the beauty. Some of them were pink. There was consensus that this might be the normal process as the flowers age. We decide to continue to the water front for so refreshments and food at a trattoria called Eden. A lively conversation and some good drink and food allowed us all to have a good time. We hiked to the Humber Loop where some of us caught the street car east and others took the bus north.
