For this event I tried something a bit different: I had two different start times, one for the beginners and a later start for “the regulars”, that way we all finish off at around the same time and we can go to lunch. Some people were a bit confused by that, but almost everybody was ok in the end.

The lesson was a bit smaller this time (6 people, just enough for the discount), which is better for everybody because each person gets more personal attention from the instructor. I did my usual showing the beginners the top of the ceiling, telling them they’ll be up there by the end of the day. I like to get a reaction that way. I would say the lesson went really well: Mirel & Cat upgraded to a two week membership, and Mirel has actually already been back. Jennifer improved on her technique and confidence a great deal from beginning to end.

We are always looking to add to our growing number of regular climbers. It seems Sarah is about to be added to that group.

Afterwards we went to this Irish pub nearby, but it was very slow because to FC Soccer game was just letting out. But the pub itself was really nice. I got Lisa to retell her sailing instructor story, it really cracks me up. If you ever get to meet her, ask her to tell you all about it.
