Write Up:

The forecast called for clouds and thundershowers. But that was not to be. It turned out to be sunny day with a nice breeze coming off Lake Ontario as we socialized on the Toronto Island.

Erik and Katherine arrived first to secure the site and debate whether it was necessary to put up the tarp (just in case…). A few hours later, Jenn, Matt, and Alison came to help set up.

As the crowd arrived we noticed the roof on the dome was open- a great sign, weatherwise!

Erik did a great job as head chef, grilling everyone’s fare to perfection. Members brought a wonderful selection of appetizers, meats, and desserts. As we ate, we met new members, reminisced about outings, and planned future events.

Later in the afternoon, a game of ultimate Frisbee broke out. As the crowd began to wane, a group set out for a swim. When we started hearing thunder, we took it as our cue to pack it up for another year.
