This event is restricted to FAST and experienced hikers who have already gone on my "FAST" or "ALMOST FAST" hikes, or similar events

WE WON'T BE WAITING FOR STRAGGLERS.

For safety, numbers will be limited. Everyone starts on the waiting list, and may be added to the event based on previous experience

The fine print

  • This D4 hike will be 14.5 km. We will maintain a fast pace of at least 6.5 km/h. (up to 7 km/h at times)
  • Please, if you sign up for this hike, ensure that you can walk at least 6.5 km/h for this distance.
  • THIS IS A FAST HIKE FOR STRONG HIKERS. IT IS NOT A CASUAL STROLL.
  • WE WILL BE WALKING VERY QUICKLY, AND WE WON'T BE WAITING FOR STRAGGLERS.

OK, now that you`ve read all the warnings, come out for a great workout!

This hike will be along a mix of pavement, gravel and dirt paths, with 3 big hills and a bunch of lesser hills. There may be a muddy section.

This will be our route:

  • Depart from North York Centre
  • West through York Cemetery
  • Do 2 full laps of Earl Bales Park
  • go thru some forest
  • End at North York Centre

    Event Directions:

    We'll meet outside the Starbucks at North York Centre Subway Station. The Starbucks is located on the west of Yonge St and on the north side of Mel Lastman Square and across the street from Empress Walk Mall.

    For those driving, there's a parking lot on the North-East corner at Empress/Park Home and Yonge Street, which is three traffic lights north of Sheppard Ave. Then it's just a short walk to the Starbucks, which is located on the south-west side.

    Look for me with an ORANGE whistle on my backpack.
