Itinerary:

Fall is here! This is one of my favorite seasons to photograph nature, with the vibrant colors and foliage all around. We'll spend this Saturday morning leisurely hiking through some of Toronto's parks and ravines, taking time to enjoy and photograph the scenery.

Please note that you MUST have a camera to be on this event. Please mention which type of camera you plan on bringing under the "Notes" when you sign up.
All cameras are welcome (SLRs, point-and-shoots, cellphones, GoPros, etc), but I may move you to the waiting list if you leave this info blank

NOTE: This is NOT a fast hike; please do not sign up if you're looking for a workout! We will be stopping frequently along the way to take pictures and enjoy the scenery

ROUTE:

We will roughly follow this route:

  • South-East through Alexander Muir Memorial Gardens
  • East through Blythwood Ravine
  • South-East through Sherwood Park
  • East through Sunnybrook Hospital/Park
  • North through Wilket Creek Park to Edwards Gardens

Most of the hike will be along paved or gravel trails. It will be mostly flat, except for a moderate hill and a moderate staircase (in Sunnybrook Park).

At Edwards Gardens, we shall disperse, and photograph the gardens and surrounding ravine at our convenience. After about 60 to 90 mins, depending on how you're feeling, feel free to either stay back longer, drop out, or hike back with me to the starting point at Lawrence Station.

If you decide to stay back or drop out at Edwards Gardens, the area is well connected to the TTC.
The Gardens are located right at the intersection of Leslie Street & Lawrence Ave. East, which is served by buses heading to Eglinton Station (51 and 54), Lawrence Station (162) and Leslie Station (51). Please check the TTC Website for more details.

The event should last 4-5 hrs, and we should be done at Edwards Gardens by 11:30am (or 1pm if you're hiking back to Lawrence Station with me)

Please arrive on time! We will start the hike promptly at 8am. I will put my phone on silent once we begin hiking

Notes:
You do NOT need any prior experience in photography to join this event. The aim is to have a good time, and take pictures. I'd recommend bringing a polarizing filter to overcome any glare from the sunlight reflecting off the leaves or creek.
