Itinerary:

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” - Mark Twain

Are you having trouble shaking the winter blahs? Tired of doing the same old things? Ready to challenge yourself and dare the impossible? Barring all that: are you ready to spend a night drinking good craft beer with like-minded people???

Come join us on Tuesday, March 18, for a night of adventure and inspiration as TOC member Peter Brother shares his latest adventure – a 20- month solo bicycling trip from Kluane National Park in the Yukon to the southern tip of South America. Tierra del Fuego National Park near Ushuaia, Argentina.

Have I mentioned he turned 70 years old on the trip? That’s not a typo – seven zero.

As a bonus, we’ll be meeting in a private antechamber at Tallboys Craft Beer House which bills itself as having the largest Ontario craft beer selection. It also has delicious vegetarian and non-vegetarian food options. It’s easy to get to: 838 Bloor Street West, right along the Bloor subway line, about 1.5 blocks east of Ossington TTC station.

More about Peter in his own words:

I have cycled all my life and hiked the Bruce Trail in its entirety, as well as most of the Grand Valley Trail and spent over 30 summers hiking in the Adirondack Mountains in upper New York State. While in Toronto I am active with the Toronto Outdoor Club and the Bruce Trail Association. I got rid of my car just prior to leaving on my journey through the Americas and so bike everywhere around the city. Currently teaching Yoga and Mindfulness Meditation and facilitating a mindfulness group.

I'll let Peter tell you more about his NEXT adventures in person, but here's another of his favourite quotes to tide you over:

"They didn't know it was impossible, so they did it." -Mark Twain
