Itinerary:

Have you been to one of Toronto's many free outdoor movies yet? If not, here is your chance to catch the last outdoor movie in the TIFF in the Park series. The movie is a classic - Mary Poppins. The movie starts at 7:55 PM in David Pecaut Square (formerly Metro Square, next to Roy Thomson Hall).

And did I mention that its free!

Contrary to the event title, we'll actually be doing an easier hike compared to the last Hike for a Movie since the movie starts earlier than most outdoor screenings but we're going to move quickly. We'll leave from St. George Subway Station at 6:45 PM sharp, and walk south about 3 km to the venue, following this route: Click here for a map view

  1. East on Bloor to Philosopher's Walk.
  2. South on Philosopher's Walk to Hoskin and then cut across U of T campus to College.
  3. South on McCaul all the way to Stephanie (just before Queen).
  4. West on Stephanie to John and then south on John to King.
  5. East on King to David Pecaut Square

We'll hike at a steady pace of about 4.5-5 km/hr, which should get us to the movie by 7:30 PM at the latest. The park fills up fast, so we want to get there early enough to have a decent place to sit.

There is no formal seating provided at David Pecaut Square. You can either sit on the grass (with or without your own blanket) or bring a camp chair. If you bring a camp chair, you have to sit at the back of the audience so as not to block of the view of those sitting on the lawn.

Note: This event is NOT rain or shine. TIFF only shows the movie in good weather. On Tuesday night, I will check the forecast, and if there is a reasonable chance of rain, then the event will be cancelled. Please check your email on the day of the event.
