Itinerary:
Toronto Beaches Hike & Ice Cream

Who remembers the very first Lick's Homeburgers and Ice Cream location in the Beaches?
I used to drive to the Beaches from Mississauga just to walk around on a hot summer's day and end up at Lick's for fries and a cherry coke ice cream float.

Of course, finding parking back then was horrible; nowadays, there's really only one option: the TTC. So our hike will start and end at Coxwell subway station, include a complete tour of the Toronto Beaches boardwalk, and we'll indulge in a stop at Lick's for an ice cream (or a burger, a float ...whatever you'd like!) Vegetarians don't despair! Lick's has awesome "Nature burgers", or even nature coney fries... yum! And they *still* offer up the cherry coke float! :)

We will meet around Coxwell Subway station (exact location to be emailed to registered members) and walk down to Ashbridge's Bay park, where we'll take a short tour of the Martin Goodman trail before hooking up with the start of the Boardwalk. We'll continue along there to the end, and then make our way to Queen Street, where around the 9.5 km mark we'll have our Lick's stopover. Then we will make our way up Woodbine, and zigzag west back to Coxwell station (simply because, at the very last minute, I saw It on google maps: "Stacy St".)

The unfortunate but necessary disclaimers:
This is a MEDIUM paced hike. I'll aim for 4.5-5.0 km per hour. Don't sign up unless you can keep this pace. If you sign up and cannot keep the pace, you'll be "dropped out" of the event and given directions back to the subway or bus. Similarly, if you're looking for a power workout, this is not the hike for you.
