Itinerary:

Are you ready for another real Canadian outdoor adventure?

If you been out with me before you know what to expect. If you have not been out with me before you can check some of my previous trips including my Survival Series and lecture (March 8, 2011)

The challenge on this adventure will be to covering the planned distance of ~30km and surviving the cold April night. I expect there may still be some ice/snow at this time of the year. The trail will be wet. There may be some beaver dam and stream crossings. And yes the water will be icy cold. So come prepared.

The focus will be on light weight backpacking techniques. So no tents would be the goal. We'll be using tarp shelters. Early spring weight sleeping bag and pad. Cooking over the open fire and with alcohol stoves at night. Dress in layers. Hiking boots with icers (if trails are ice covered) and insulated boots(if snow covered).

The trip will follow the format of the Nov 20-21, 2010 early winter camping trip

This trip is open to experienced hikers with overnight late winter camping experience. You need to be able to be confortable bushwhacking on this adventure. You need to be able to hike on trails at around 4-5 km/hr and bushwhack at 2.5 km/hr.

Pre-trip details will be worked out via email and phone calls.
