Sunday Afternoon Skate at Toronto's Skating Trail (1/23/2011)

Itinerary:

End the weekend by spending an hour or two Sunday afternoon at Toronto's first ice skating trail, located at 65 Colonel Sam Smith Park Dr. (just south of Lake Shore Boulevard West at Kipling Avenue). Every level of skating skill should be able to skate at this park so everyone is welcome including kids.

The ice trail is a one-of-a-kind outdoor rink that expands into a figure-eight shape and covers 250 metres of pure winter fun. It winds through the park, offering wonderful lakeside views and the most picturesque of outdoor skating areas. Click here for more information. Admission is free, but note that there are no skate rentals nor lockers available on site so you need to bring your own skates and be responsible for securing your own personal items.

We'll meet at 2:00 in the changing area and after 1 to 2 hours of skating, we can to head over to the nearest Tim Horton's for some warm beverages.


Required Items to Bring:
Warm clothing, or layer and you need to bring your own skates. Children under the age of 6 are required to have a helmet.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
There are no rentals so you need to bring your own skates. There are also no lockers so we all need to be responsible for securing our personal items.

The skating trial is at 65 Colonel Sam Smith Park Dr. (just south of Lake Shore Boulevard West at Kipling Avenue). Parking is free on Sundays.

As there is no car pool for this event, to get there by TTC you can catch the 44 Bus at either the Kipling Subway Station or at Kipling and Lakeshore via the 501 or 508 Lakeshore street cars. Click here for this bus' Sunday Schedule.

We'll meet at 2:00 in the changing area close to the washrooms.
