Itinerary:

We will drive up to the Torrance Barrens Conservation Reserve and snowshoeing on and off trail.

The Torrance Barrens Conservation Reserve encompasses almost 5,000 acres. The lunar landscape of the Barrens is characterized by bedrock, wetlands, and peat-filled hollows. The prevalence of bare rock is a result of waves from receding glacial lakes washing the rocks.

We will be snowshoeing on trail at approx. 4k/hr, and going slower off-trail. The exact distance of the day will be determined by our pace off-trail and how much light we have in the day.

Note the co-ordinator has 2 dogs which may be on this event. Any participants wishing to bring their dog(s) should contact the co-ordinator first.

Note the early carpool departure time if you are taking transit to the carpool.
