Itinerary:

So, my random hike picker has selected the hike for today.

Distance is about 10 KM, with the hike both starting and finishing at Sheppard Yonge Station.

This hike will be on a combination of neighborhood sidewalks & single track dirt trails and paved park paths.

Looks like I'm gonna make you suffer just twice in terms of hills, both of which are around 50 meters.

I'll stop at the Earl Bales Community Centre about 2.5 KM into the hike for a washroom break.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS A SUBWAY CLOSURE ON LINE 1 BETWEEN ST CLAIR STATION & YORK MILLS STATION TODAY

I usually carry a pair of icers with me from the first snowfall of the year until the end of April, so I recommend having a pair in your pack to deal with any potential ice.
You can find the pair I use, 'HERE ON AMAZON'.

For those unfamiliar with how I lead my hikes.

  • If you see me walking at a certain pace, you don’t have to walk at the same pace as me (I like to talk to different people on a hike, so I walk I different paces)
  • If you’d like to walk faster than me, that’s cool, if you like to walk slower than me, that’s cool too
  • We’ll meet up as a group when we take a major turn, cross a major intersection or if I think the group is getting too far separated.
  • We’ll do a water break, breather and sure everyone is aliver
  • I have three requests:
    1. If you choose to walk in front of me and you don’t know where you’re going, please stop and wait as I ain’t going to chase after y'all.
    2. Please no harassment, or else you won’t be welcomed back.
    3. I don't know everything. I'm just a guy to likes going on hikes, so please keep your expectations low.

    Event Directions:

We'll meet on the north east side of Yonge & Sheppard, which is located just outside Sheppard-Yonge Station, beside the CIBC.

To access the meet point from the subway, please exit following the signs for the Sheppard Centre. Upon exiting the doorway, turn right and climb the stairs out to the north east corner.

For those of you driving, there's a Green P parking lot located just one block north of Sheppard and then west of Yonge Street.

Look for me in the BLUE Toronto Outdoor Club shirt, just beside the CIBC - should it be wet or cold, I'll just be inside the station doors.
