Itinerary:

So, we're getting close to the holiday season and I've always wants to go check out the The Distillery Winter Village.
I figured this would be the year to go.
So, I'm just going to do a relatively short and easy hike to get us down there.

This 5 KM hike will start at Broadview Station and end at the Cherry Street entrance to the Distillery District.

The hike will be on a combination of paved paths, a potentially muddy field, sidewalks and a few dirt trails.

In terms of hills, there should be a long staircase out of Riverdale Park.

I'll attempt to stop for a washroom break at the Riverdale East washrooms, located about 1.5 KM into the hike.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THERE IS A SUBWAY CLOSURE ON LINE 1 BETWEEN YORK MILLS AND ST CLAIR STATION THIS WEEKEND

For those unfamiliar with how I lead my hikes.

  • If you see me walking at a certain pace, you don’t have to walk at the same pace as me (I like to talk to different people on a hike, so I walk I different paces)
  • If you’d like to walk faster than me, that’s cool, if you like to walk slower than me, that’s cool too
  • We’ll meet up as a group when we take a major turn, cross a major intersection or if I think the group is getting too far separated.
  • We’ll do a water break, breather and sure everyone is aliver
  • I have two requests:
    1. If you choose to walk in front of me and you don’t know where you’re going, please stop and wait as I ain’t going to chase after y'all.
    2. Please no harassment, or else you won’t be welcomed back.

  • How to Get There:
    Event Directions:

Broadview Station is located on the Bloor/Danforth Subway Line. It is three stops east of Bloor/Yonge station.

For those of you driving, Broadview Station is located on the east side of Broadview Avenue, just north of Danforth.
    Address is 769 Broadview Avenue
In terms of parking, there's a Green P lot located one block north of the station on Erindale Avenue.

We'll meet near the only entrance to the station. Look for me in the BLUE Toronto Outdoor Club shirt,
If its dry, most likely I'll be just beside the station entrance on the side of the streetcar tacks.
If its wet, I'll probably just be inside the station entrance.
