We had 18 people on our hike to the Beaches' Celtic Festival.

There wasn't a lot of wildlife along the waterfront trails but we did see mallard ducks and Canada Geese in the lake at Ashbridges Bay. We also met a young man in the woods' trail who was taking very good pictures of warblers. He said it was easy for him to identify them and he even knew their individual songs... which is pretty amazing and takes many observing hours to get that proficient.

The rain held off for most of the hike and showered a little once we were at the festival.

At Kew Garden, there were Celtic musicians, singers and dancers in the bandstand. Some of the dancers did highland fling (both with and without swords) and others did a River Dance style of tap dance. In the surrounding area there were several kiosks selling honey & preserves from Nova Scotia, some items from the U.K., several items bestowing the virtues of Guinness... :), and lots of other interesting things.

The average speed for the hike was 3.6 kph.

$18.00 was collected in voluntary donations. Thank you.
