Despite a bad start to the day for the Coordinator and a couple of no shows at the car pool, including a needed driver causing a passenger to have to return home (thank you Linda W. for volunteering), 9 of us left the car pool to meet up with 4 others at the Badlands. After parking our vehicles and a short briefing, we were off. The biggest downfall on this hike is the amount of road walking required. Despite this though, there is a 3km portion of trail bear the beginning that was spectacular; trees on both sides tnat were lit up with fall colours with many leaves on the trail as well; it was like walking through fire ... very beautiful. At the conclusion of the hike, we paid a visit to the Badlands and then off to the Spirit Tree Cidery where we had a lovely lunch. All in all, a great day. $16 was collected in voluntary donations.
