Write Up:

This write up is a special one. It shows me just how far we have come and how wonderful the members of the TOC really are. From the determination and cooperation of all attending these series of hikes could not have been so successful or enjoyable.

This hike was enjoyable on so many levels. From the start we could feel the spring temperatures warming our faces. It quickly turned to snow crust breaking under our feet revealing the knee high snow patches which still remained. With a questionable, not impressed stare from Julia, we pressed on.

We stopped for a pose, a wonderful elderly couple took a snap shot of us atop a look out which is popular to so many. This section was for me the most scenic of our series yet. We cautiously made our way down into the valley stopping for a few more pics. Though there were some slippery slopes many made it through without icers, which to me signaled the start of spring.

During Our hike we experienced overflowing streams, swelled ponds and downed trees. Signs of the ice storm of 2014 were still obvious everywhere. We even stopped to witness maple tree sap poachers, if there is such a thing, but inside Glen Haffey conservation grounds I would have to say yes.

I would like to thank all those who continue to come out and make every hike a successful one, without our great members and carpool drivers it would never have been as enjoyable or as successful as they continue to be. I hope to see you all and many more on our next episodes as well as other adventures yet to come.

I would personally like to thank all those who take the time to take pictures and videos of our hikes, you help keep the memories alive. Feel free to send me anything you have, I will post them along with the write ups. Or you can simply post them on the TOC Facebook page.

Through kind support of our members the TOC raised $4 in donations and sold 2 badges.
