It was a great day in the Rouge. Spring thaw was obvious from the start with the rivers and creeks bursting at thier banks. Over flowing ponds and puddles proved to be a fun obstacle throughout our hike and the weather seemed to cooperate from the start. With the sun shining to high of +8 and a small cool breeze to stop us from overheating, we explored several trails throughout the valley starting with the Mast trail. Vista trail lookout platform proved to be highlight yielding a gorgeous view of the valley and the Orchard trail we had earlier explored. Colins vast knowledge of the valley, rivers and creeks gave us great insight and an appreciation for the Rouge River Valley and its history. A great thanks and appreciation goes out to the volunteers Caroline and Colin who sponsored me on this hike. This hike couldn't have gone as seamless as it did without thier endless help. THANK YOU! Also a thank you goes out to the members who attended the hike. Everyone stayed together and all had great spirits throughtout the day. I look forward to posting future TOC events and I hope to see many of you there. Thanks to all those who attended, the TOC raised $15 in donations.
