The goal was to enjoy the nice weather with a Canada Day-themed "red-and-white" potluck picnic.

The five of us (six if you count the baby) met at St. George subway station at 11:30, but it later turned out that almost all of us lived in the neighbourhood and had walked there!

We strolled down Philosopher's Walk and past Hart House to the quad of University College - a grassy area with shade from beautiful mature trees, surrounded by old stone buildings and accessible only by a pedestrian pathway (you can't see any roads from there). There we enjoyed a picnic lunch that included a watermelon feta salad with mint, a Lebanese potato and tomato salad, a Japanese stew and veggies, beet hummus with pita bread, angel food cake with strawberry sauce, and red jello topped with rice pudding and cherries.

Thanks to everyone who came out and shared their delicious creations!
