Our group set out from the Rouge river valley campground and meandered up the Mast, Vista and Cedar trails.

Along the way we enjoyed some beautiful snowy views from the ridge overlooking the river. We had sunny weather with good fresh snow on the ground that provided traction over the icy path below. We learned a lot about the history of this ever-changing park from Murray who used to frequent the area as a kid when they still used to dam the Rouge river to make swimming spots.

Our lunch break took place at the grounds of the conservation centre where the sun was warming us and the wind was being blocked. On the way back, we hiked along the Orchard and Mast trails.

After reaching the campground we all relaxed by the campfire at the Tipi of the campground where Jessie's tea restocked our energy reserves. Eventually, as the smoke died down, we were left with a glow of warmth of each others company in this great hike.

Thank you to everyone for making this a wonderful day out.
