It was a very warm evening to commit to this ice skating event...

I briefly considered a detour to harbourfront kayak and canoe for an evening paddle to center island!

The ice skating venue at the Natrel rink was absolutely packed and even though it was warm, everyone there seemed to be having a great time. This event had a large turn out and everyone looked in good spirits. We got our skates, chatted, took some group pictures and and then hit the ice...

Did I say, hit the ice... Yes, I did. This was my usual demonstration on how to break an arm...oops...I meant, break your fall as you initially get on the ice! Most people don’t realize the skill involved in standing still one moment and completely falling down on you back or hip the very next moment...this is a skill I’ve been perfecting over the years. Everyone took lots of pictures of my demonstration.

Our group was evenly divided between those who could skate well and those that were beginners!

And then there was me...

We all had a fairly good skate considering how many people were on the ice. And a very big thank you to all the good skaters that helped the beginner ones. Thanks especially to Geraldine, Robin, Lesley and Jonathan for their guidance and helping the others to get started and feeling comfortable skating.

Jean, our other event coordinator lead the group to a social coffee stop nearby.

Thanks to all that made it out to this event. A warm welcome to some very new members to TOC and a very big thank you to all that made donations to TOC!

Have a look at the pictures!

Looking forward to the next time,

Ghanesh and Jean
